The Invisible Thread Weaves

The Invisible Thread Weaves is a multi-thematic project centered around artistic creation, cultural heritage and research. Beginning with the emblematic group exhibition of 12 Greek artists, a series of further events unfolds, scientific discussions in the field, residency programs, gastronomy activities & workshops.
THE INVISIBLE THREAD WEAVES
The project develops around the concept of care as a cultural, social and environmental value, with the theoretical background of Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities where a place is not defined by its borders but by the relationships, narratives and invisible networks that make it up. The historical relationship of a community with its place is explored, treating the island of Tinos and its rural landscape, the village of Agapi, as a memory storehouse.
GROUP EXHIBITION

SPACES: SCHOOL – OLD WATERMILL
The central axis of the project a group art exhibition, with the participation of 12 important artists with lifelong connections to Tinos and contemporary Greek art.

GASTRONOMY
An inaugural tasting event, designed as a cultural and gastronomic experience, with the assistance of Dimitris Roussounelous and Antonis Psaltis. This event highlights the close relationship between landscape, production, knowledge and culture. At the same time, it aims to contribute to the promotion of the national effort to register Cycladic cheesemaking on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The program’s closing event, the “SHARED TABLE” – a ritual action where artists, creators, local producers, young people, researchers and visitors share the same space, the same food and the same narratives. The final discussion takes place, which marks the natural completion of the project and unites the results of visual creation, scientific research and local production, centered on the relationship between culture and Tinos.
RESEARCH
3+1 DISCUSSIONS 17-18 & 24-25 october
Spaces: old school / watermill
Three plus one discussionS that bring together artists, architects, researchers, residents, craftsmen, producers and theorists from Greece and Italy. The dialogues examine issues such as the care of the land and landscape, the reuse of the old school as an exhibition space, gastronomy as a form of cultural heritage, collective memory, traditional techniques and art as a social practice.
EDUCATION
17-18 & 24-25 OCTOBER CULTURAL TOURS – WORKSHOPS
Educational activities focus on land, gastronomy, storytelling, cheesemaking, soundscape and hospitality. Young people collaborate through workshops and collective practices, creating a common field of learning and experience. Knowledge is not transmitted unidimensionally but is produced through the encounter of different people and forms of knowledge.
