The Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with NWNW NPO and the Chillida Leku Museum, organized a tribute to the work of famous Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida on Saturday, November 23, 2024 (at 5:00 p.m.), marking the 100th anniversary of his birth, at the Marble Craft Museum in Pyrgos, Tinos island.

In the first part of the tribute, Ms. Sofia Zisimou and Ms. Alexandra Grypari from NWMW presented fragments of the artist’s career, highlighting the influence of place, identity, and traditions on his work.

In the second part, the documentary “Art and Dreams” (Spain, 1999, 54’, Todo Espectador) by Susana Chillida, dedicated to the prominent Basque artist, was screened. Susana Chillida, the artist’s daughter, draws on her experience as a filmmaker, educator, and psychologist to explore the complex paths of her father’s work and life—one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th century.
