The “Toichos” project is an ambitious interdisciplinary initiative developed on the island of Tinos from April to May 2025, with the participation of six notable French architects/designers: Marlon Bagnou Beido, Ophélie Dozat, Anna Saint Pierre, Côme Rolin, Olivier Thomas, and Mathias Palazzi. It is a research and creative project developed through a sequence of phases—research, creation, and on-site exhibition in Tinos—followed by an exhibition in Athens and the production of a collective publication in Paris.
The project is carried out with the involvement of a broad network of mentors, including researchers, academics, geologists, architects, craftspeople, educators, visual artists, archaeologists, and economists. Its aim is to highlight the island of Tinos, the traditional craft of dry-stone construction, and its significance for:
- local cultural heritage
- architecture
- contemporary building methods and material practices
The toichos project was organized with the financial support and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Greece, the financial support of the Culture Moves program, the French Institute and under the auspices of the French Institute of Athens.
